When will the Cowboys finally ditch Tony Romo?

Dallas Cowboy quarterback Tony Romo has built quite a reputation over the years of blowing big plays and ruining his team's chance at winning games.

Last night, against the New York Jets, he did it again.

After a standout performance in the first 3 quarters of the game, he gave up two turnovers in the fourth, including a fumble on the Jets 3-yard-line and a game-losing int to Darrelle Revis.

This is a pathetically horrible play all-around. Romo should have recognized that Dez Bryant was covered by possibly the best defensive back in the league right now. The safety took away the deep zone, which allowed Revis to stay underneath. And on top of that, Bryant's effort was pretty weak.

But I don't care how poor Bryant's effort was! This ball should not be thrown under any circumstances. Romo has no excuses for this disaster.

And it's not like this is the first time that Romo has blown a game.

Remember the botched snap against the Seahawks in the 2006 season's playoffs? The Seahawks would go on to lose to the Bears, who would lose the SuperBowl to Indianapolis.

Or how about the interception during what could have been a game-winning drive against the Giants in the 2007 season's playoffs? The Giants would go on to ruin the Patriots' perfect record by beating them in quite possibly the best Super Bowl ever!

How about his 21 of 39, 183 yard, 3 turnover playoff game against the Eagles in 2008 season's playoffs?

Or how about the divisional championship playoff game after the 2009 season in which he was sacked six times and dropped three fumbles against the Brett Favre-led Vikings?

Look, Cowboys fans: as a Bears fan, I know your pain. Tony Romo is Dallas' Rex Grossman. One week, he looks like the best QB you've ever seen. The next week, he's stumbling over his own two feet. But hey, at least Grossman lead the Bears to a Super Bowl! Romo can't even get the Cowboys past the divisional round of the playoffs.

So when is Dallas finally going to part ways with Tony Romo? It would be the best thing for both parties. Dallas could get a QB who doesn't choke. And Romo could get an opportunity for a fresh start somewhere else - probably with lowered expectations - where he could really shine.
