My dad and I drove up to Utah today (near Zion National Park) to try to get an optimal view of the solar eclipse. And boy did we have a good view!

I managed to snap the following pictures with my cell phone (by holding solar-filtered sunglasses up to the camera lense).

May 20, 2012 Eclipse (1) - Beginning
Beginning
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right.

May 20, 2012 Eclipse (2) - Half
Half
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

May 20, 2012 Eclipse (3) - Full
Full
One ring to rule them all, One ring to find them,
One ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them

We also had my dad's 8" telescope set up with a solar filter on it as well, and got to see the eclipse and a few sunspots. Unfortunately, I didn't have the technical capability of getting photographs of those.

It made me yearn for a good Star Wars flight sim in the vein of the old X-Wing and TIE Fighter PC classics. But in this age of big-budget, micro-transaction-fueled, multiplayer-focused,...
