Last night's episode of The Colbert Report was a rare episode in which I actually watched the guest interview because (for once) the discussion was about a national economic issue that may have actually affected me directly. Last night's guest was Jeffry Leonard of The Washington Monthly, who recently wrote an article about the increasing amount of large corporations who are essentially stiffing thier small business partners when it comes time to pay the bill. Many large corporations are switching to the "net-60-plus" system of paying debts, in which they will pay off small companies that they hire in 60 or 120 days after the invoice is filed instead of the 30 days that has been standard since the beginning of time (that's an exaggeration - mostly). Spider-Man reboot costume

We have an actual title for the 2012 Spider-Man reboot: "The Amazing Spider-Man".

This is exactly what I wanted to hear! Very early rumors said that the movie would be based on the Ultimate Spider-Man line of comics. I hate the Ultimate Marvel comics. I can't really give a specific reason why. I just don't like the reworks for most character backstories in the Ultimate universe. So when I heard that the next Spidey film would be a reboot, I was kind of glad. The first two Raimi films were not bad, but I didn't like that they ignored Gwen Stacy in the first movie. The third movie was so bad that I really just didn't want that story line to continue any more.

Quit with the Twitter feeds on websites!

in General by MegaBearsFan
I don't use Twitter. I'm not a big fan of the whole, mass-texting people everytime I have a random though. If I want to share a random thought, I'll put it on Facebook. If people want to read my random thoughts, they can read them on Facebook (or here) at their leisure. I don't want or need to bother everyone I know by sending a message that I just ate a bowl of cheerios straight to their cell phones. But I understand that people do like Twitter, and I can see how it can be valuable. So I'm not going to go to the extreme of saying "I hate Twitter! Everybody should stop using Twitter!" But what I am going to say is: Please stop putting Twitter feeds on your damned websites! [More]

I hate sitcom laugh tracks

in Television and Movies by MegaBearsFan
Does anyone else think that Sitcom characters are way too dumb, and that laugh-tracks are stupid, irritating, and need to be taken out of sitcoms. All they do is remind you that there is supposed to be a joke there. So if you're not laughing, you know what that means? .... It means the joke isn't funny. [More]

Shogun 2 is one of my favorite games of the recent years, and its second expansion Fall of the Samurai made it even better!
